Not that it is really important, but why was this RETIRED Marine in Blues? Also when will the TSA Hire people with SMARTS?

He was being honored as "The Veteran of the Year". That's why he was in full uniform.  I don't know about the Marines, but the Army regs would allow wearing the uniform for an event like that.

Why wouldn't those awarding him advise the TSA?  They should have made arrangements to allow for minimal inspection or none at all.  This is messed up, but I'm not certain it's the TSA's fault.   Why...

If this former/retired Marine was to be honored by the Legislature, why in the Hell was he not met and escorted at the airport????
